Philippians 4:4
Notes
Verses
{Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Philippians 4:4 NLT}{Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews. However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus. The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord. Acts 11:19-21 NLT}{Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world. Romans 1:8 NLT}{Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. Acts 8:1 NLT}{But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 NLT}{While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:18-19 ESV}{And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…" Matthew 28:18-19a ESV}{I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Philemon 1:6 NIV}
Quotes
David Platt : The last thing you and I want to do is waste our lives on religious activity that is devoid of spiritual productivity – being active in the church but not advancing the Kingdom of God. We don’t want to come to the end of our days on earth only to realize that we have had little impact on more people going to heaven. (Radical Together); Charles Spurgeon : To be a soul winner is the happiest thing in this world. And with every soul you bring to Jesus Christ, you seem to get a new heaven here upon earth. (Sermons); James Cameron : When people have an experience that’s very powerful in the movie theater, they want to go share it. They want to grab their friend and bring them, so that they can enjoy it. They want to be the person to bring them the "news" that this is something worth having in their life. ("on Avatar");
