“Unbroken” follows the remarkable life of Louis "Louie" Zamperini, an Olympic athlete and WWII bombardier. After his plane crashes into the Pacific, Louie survives 47 days adrift on a raft only to be captured by the Japanese Navy. He endures brutal conditions in POW camps, especially under the sadistic guard known as "The Bird."
Despite relentless torture, Louie’s spirit remains unbroken. After the war, he battles PTSD but ultimately finds peace and redemption through forgiveness, transforming his suffering into a story of resilience and grace.
Following the film, we will have a discussion based on the Biblical and theological implications and undertones of the film.
