Thanksgiving is tomorrow and inevitably, someone at some point will ask you the question… ‘What are you thankful for?’
Such a great question! And honestly, it’s a question that we should be asking one another more than just once a year. Giving voice to what you are thankful for not only reminds you that you have things to be thankful for, but it’s a tremendous reminder that you and I have Someone to say thank you to.

With only 37 days remaining in 2024, I wanted to take a moment to give thanks to God for ALL of you, the men and women who make up the GENESIS Community. Very specifically, I wanted you to know that when I think about you… the GENESIS family, here are the things that I am thanking God for…
I am thankful that you want to help ALL people walk with God…
I am thankful for your friendship, support, encouragement and partnership in gospel ministry…
I am thankful that you give sacrificially…
I am thankful that you serve sacrificially…
I am thankful that Jesus is not just a part of your life, but He is your life…
I am thankful that you ask God for God-sized and God-centered things…
I am thankful that you don’t take yourselves too seriously…
I am thankful that you hate sin…
I am thankful that you genuinely care about the needs of those around you…
I am thankful that you remain focused on what matters most…
I am thankful that you use your words to bless, encourage and inspire those around you…
I am thankful that you keep short accounts…
I am thankful that you are gracious both in word and deed…
I am thankful that you are nice, friendly, and winsome…
I am thankful that you are a joy to be around…
I am thankful that you know how to smile, laugh, and have a good time…
I am thankful that you remain in awe of the power and presence of God in our midst…
I am thankful that you love to worship with your life…
I am thankful that you love to sing songs to God with passion, joy, and energy…
I am thankful that you are flexible…
I am thankful that you love the Word of God…
I am thankful that you seek to do what the Word of God says…
I am thankful that you believe in the power of prayer and pray like it’s the most important thing we can do…
I am thankful that you are seeking to live Spirit-filled, Spirit-empowered, and Spirit-led lives…
I am thankful that you love your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members…
I am thankful that you invite those around to ‘come and see’ all that God is doing…
I am thankful that you steer clear of being ‘religious’ and focus on cultivating a ‘relationship’ with Jesus…
I am thankful that we have elders who are humble leaders who lead by example…
I am thankful that we have deacons who sacrificially serve ALL people…
I am thankful that we have GROUP leaders who want to see ALL people grow to look a bit more like Jesus…
I am thankful that we have TEAM leaders and TEAM members who are committed to loving ALL people as they have been loved and serving ALL people as they have been served…
I am thankful that we have husbands seeking to love their wives as Christ loves the church…
I am thankful that we have wives who love and respect their husbands…
I am thankful that we have parents seeking to raise their kids to love Jesus…
I am thankful that we have single people who are not confused as to who their first love is…
I am thankful that you don’t want to be a spectator, but that you want to play the game…
I am thankful that you want to see more churches get planted…
I am thankful that you are seeking to be obedient to God with ALL of your life ALL of the time…
I am thankful that you are committed to practicing truth…
I am thankful that you are not concerned with being popular in the eyes of man, but being faithful to God…
I am thankful that you want to know and live out God’s plan for your life…
I am thankful that you want to live outside the boat on the water with Jesus…
I am thankful that you know that God is not done with us…
I am thankful that you are following Jesus regardless of the cost…
I am thankful that I get to be part of such an amazing community that believes God is not done with us yet!
