The GENESIS Community is deeply saddened and grieved at the tragic loss of our dear friend and sister in Christ, Alanna DeMella. Alanna and her husband Mike were one of two couples who won the GENESIS “I Do Vacation Giveaway” and were in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend attending the Real Marriage Conference.
On Sunday afternoon, March 18th Alanna and her husband were at their hotel and had just entered a cabana by the pool when the building was suddenly struck by an out of control vehicle. Alanna, was seven months pregnant with their first child, a son. Both Alanna and their unborn son died as a result of the accident.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Mike and both the Masterson and DeMella families. This is such a devastating loss for all who knew and loved Alanna. She touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed. We are thankful that Alanna knew and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and that she and her precious child have entered into eternity and are in the arms of their Heavenly Father.
On Wednesday evening, March 21st at 7PM, about 250 people gathered to celebrate a life well lived. It was a powerful time of testimonies and prayer.

Monday, March 26th – Funeral Service will be held at 11AM @ Old South Union Congregational Church – 25 Columbian St. in Weymouth.
